Northern California Pug Club
GENERAL INFORMATION:

There are two types of membership open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the Northern California Pug Club.

(1) “Regular” members enjoy all Club privileges including the right to vote and hold office.

(2) “Associate” members’ privileges are limited to receipt of the Club’s newsletter and attendance at Club sponsored activities, and expressly exclude the right to vote, hold office, eligibility for or receipt of Club awards and all other rights and privileges of legal members of a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. Associate membership applications should be filed with the Membership Chair but do not require sponsors or the approval process applicable to prospective regular applicants. An associate member may at any time apply for regular membership as outlined in the Northern California Pug Club By-Laws. While membership is to be unrestricted as to residence, the Club's primary purpose is to be representative of the Pug breeders, owners, and exhibitors in Northern California.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING A MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION:

* Each person applying for membership in the Club must fill-out their own application. Single applications submitted for multiple individuals (such as a husband and wife), will not be accepted.

* Applications should be filled out by either typing or printing clearly using a dark pen.

* All entries on the application form must be completed. Mark “NA” for those entries that are not applicable.

* To apply for “regular” membership, an applicant must attend one Club meeting and either work at one NCPC function or attend a second Club meeting, all within one year of submitting an application for membership.

* Applications for “regular” membership must include the signatures of the two NCPC members in good standing who are endorsing the applicant.

* Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant for correction. Please note that page 4 is only required if applying for “regular” membership.

* First year membership dues must accompany the application. Club dues are twenty-five dollars ($25) per person per year for “regular” membership and twenty dollars ($20) per person per year for "associate” membership. Do not send cash. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the Northern California Pug Club (NCPC).

* Properly completed applications and accompanying payment should be mailed to the NCPC Membership Chairman as indicated on the application form for processing.

* An application for “regular” membership will be read at the first Club meeting following its receipt. The applicant’s name and sponsors’ names will then be published in the next NCPC Newsletter indicating that he/she has applied for regular membership in the Club.  Following the publication of a prospective member’s information in the Newsletter, their application will be voted upon by secret, written ballot at the next scheduled Club meeting. Affirmative votes by 3/4 of the Regular members present and voting at that meeting shall be required to approve the application.
