About the Owner:
|
Tom
is retired now and loves staying home and spoiling the
girls to his heart's content. They have a routine
that gets him up early and they have to assist him in
everything he does. I (Denise) work for a
strawberry company as a Payroll Specialist and was
recently promoted to financial accountant for one of the
strawberry producers.
I have been active in dog shows since 1977 when I
started showing my brother's Labrador Retriever in
obedience. I finished his UD (Utility Degree) and
got a Shetland Sheepdog to start training. After
finishing his UD, Tom and I met and he started talking
about getting a Bulldog. In 1994, we got married
and decided on a Pug instead. I insisted on
finding a breeder that could support my questions
because I knew about the potential health issues with
Pugs. That is when we were introduced to Cory Rex
Kennels. Courtney and Tony have always been
supportive and helpful -- before and after we got
Monique.
I started training Monique at 4 months old and continued
until she earned her CDX in 1999. After working at
an Agility Trial, I came home with a new direction for
my little hot shot She earned her Novice Agility
degrees but could never make time in Open, so we decided
to move on to Rally.
Monique is retired now but she still likes to go to
shows and have everyone talk to her. She is a
great ambassador for our obedience club and loves to do
demos at the fair every year. The support we
receive from Cory Rex and Storybook Kennels makes owning
a Pug a blessing.
